Since President Obama was on the campaign trail, America has been anxiously waiting for the selection of the Obama family dog. According to the Baltimore Sun, the Obama family narrowed their search for the new first pooch down to the Labradoodle and the Portuguese Water Dog. After careful consideration, The Examiner reports that a decision has been made.

The new first dog will be a Portuguese Water Dog! The family plans to bring home the dog at the end of April, during the girls' spring break.

According to People, the Portuguese Water Dog was selected because of its medium size and temperament. The breed is also great for allergy sufferers like first daughter, Malia. This is sure to be one famous dog!
