Final 'Potter' Movie Release Date Set

The final installment of the "Harry Potter" series will be released in 2011.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and last book from the popular J.K. Rowling series, is set to arrive in theaters soon.

According to BBC News, the 608-page book will be split into two parts. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" will be released on Nov. 19, 2010. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" will be released on July 15, 2011.

These release dates were settled upon after some obstacles had to be overcome, BBC News reports. The movie set was closed for a week after a stuntman suffered serious back injuries. The release date for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was pushed back to July of this year in order to guarantee Warner Bros. Studios a major summer blockbuster. Finally, the Hollywood writers' strike last year also negatively affected the production schedule.

In total, the first five films have grossed $4.5 billion worldwide, making "Harry Potter" the biggest film franchise in box office history.
