Ed McMahon Hospitalized for Pneumonia
According to the celebrity gossip blog, McMahon, the 85-year-old is currently in the intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital.
McMahon's representative, Howard Bragman, confirmed the rumors, saying only that "He's not at Cedars Sinai."
In March of last year, McMahon sued the Los Angeles-based hospital, claiming fraud, abuse, and emotional distress following Cedars Sinai's decision to discharge him with a broken neck following a fall he suffered in 2007.
Health problems are nothing new for MacMahon. In 2002, the "Tonight Show" sidekick suffered complications from toxic mold in his home, which contributed to his dog, Muffie's, death. MacMahon later sued his insurance company for over $20 million, alleging that a broken pipe was the source of the mold.
In recent years, MacMahon has struggled with a series of financial problems, relating to his hospital visits and insurance issues. A June 30 report by Reuters News Agency confirmed that MacMahon was facing foreclosure because of unpaid bills related to his fall. Realtor Donald Trump later bailed out MacMahon, buying his mortgage from Countrywide Financial and leasing the property back to MacMahon.
