Jennifer Hudson Says Performing Is Like Therapy
On Friday's live episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, Jennifer Hudson told the public that singing has a healing force for her.
"I'm just glad to be back and be back to work again. Just doing what I love to do is like therapy," said the singer.
During the brief, live interview, Hudson did not mention the October murders in Chicago, through which she lost her mother, brother and nephew.
According to the Associated Press, the bodies of Hudson's mother and brother were discovered at their South Side home. Her nephew's body was found days later in an abandoned SUV. William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson's elder sister, Julia, is charged for the murders.
Jennifer Hudson, who got started by her performance on American Idol, won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2007 for Dreamgirls, and a Grammy earlier this month. Hudson shared her awards and honor with her three dogs: Oscar, Grammy and Dreamgirl.
