Did Rihanna and Chris Brown Even Split?

Rihanna just kissed her shot at victim spokeswoman goodbye. The latest news of the day is that the 21-year-old is back with her flame--the man who beat her into the bloody pulp we all saw in the infamous picture. The question is: Why?

Is it low self-esteem? Sure, it has been said before that entertainers crave reassurance and acceptance so much, that they will go to incredible lengths to obtain it. But really, going back to the man who beat you into a nearly unrecognizable state? Really, Rihanna?

It is not clear yet whether the LAPD and the District Attorney will press charges against Brown, 20, but the waters have certainly been murked, as Rihanna and Brown are officially back together.

Interestingly, perhaps it is more accurate to say that the two are still together. Despite being publicly humiliated and physically abused by him, Rihanna never actually broke up with Brown, so far as the public knows.

Despite public sentiments from her father, the singer apparently decided to return to Brown. No word yet on whether or not Jay-Z is unhappy with the news. Jay-Z is widely seen as a form of godfather for Rihanna, and was upset over news of her beating.
