Solo Album in the Works for Aubrey O'Day
Danity Kane as a group is damaged, but Aubrey O'Day plans to put this behind her and focus on her career as a solo artist. O'Day is about to sign a solo deal with Steve Rifkind at SRC/Universal.
KBSRadio.ca reported there is talk that the former DK member may be working with Akon on the album. However, a rep told MTV News they do not wish to comment as of right now.
The latest news was revealed shortly after the Playboy model said she wouldn't turn down a chance for a Danity Kane reunion. According to MTV News, O'Day didn't have any details about the potential album. She did, however, disclose that once she "finished off all my obligations with Danity Kane and Puff and 'Making the Band,' and once that is taken care of, I will be moving forward with a new label and releasing music."
Even though O'Day didn't get the chance to express herself in the studio with Danity Kane, she does get to put her creativity in her music without any restrictions. "It's been a long time since I've been able to express myself in writing and trying different ways of performing on tracks and different styles of music," she said. "And a lot of the music I've been recording has a rock edge to it, and I love it."
MTV News reported O'Day wants to also team up with rapper Snoop Dog. "I'm so in love with Snoop, and we are both West Coast people."
