Britney Spears Comeback Tour Starts Tomorrow
Tomorrow, lucky Britney Spears fans in New Orleans will be the first to experience the circus. The tour features the Pussycat Dolls, a magic act by a former Saved by the Bell star and a cameo by Hollywood gossip enthusiast Perez Hilton, according to MTV.
Spears's blog on her official site (www.britneyspears.com) has revealed the set list of the concert. The show will be divided into five sections: Circus, House of Fun (Anything Goes), Freakshow/Peepshow, Electro Circ and the Encore which will feature a "Womanizer" remix and reprise of "Circus."
Celebrity comebacks are all the rage in Hollywood, but Spears's has undoubtedly been the most talked about since she turned herself around and successfully released her latest album, Circus, in December 2007. Spears has been in the public eye a lot within the last year regarding her health problems, custody battles, and the recent lawsuits involving her former manager, Sam Lutfi. The release of Circus certainly helped to move Spears into a more positive light, leaving her with a lot riding on the album tour.
Spears's comeback to the stage may not be all that she hoped for, despite the fact that news of her tour has been all over the media since it was announced. Venues haven't been able to secure a full house for the pop star's big night. MSNBC reports that as of Sunday, March 1, there was still a good amount of tickets left for the New Orleans show. People are unsure whether they want to spend money on an artist who "isn't a sure bet right now," an insider told MSNBC.
Spears has not been deterred by the possibility of performing to a lot of empty seats. She will stick to her lyrics, "I'm a put-on-a-show kind of girl. Don't like the back seat, gotta be first," and is determined to put on a show stopping performance, according to Metro UK.
Even if Spears can't perform for all of her fans across the country, she will still have her two biggest fans there with her every night. Her sons, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, are accompanying their mom on her tour. The boys' dad, Kevin Federline, joined them in Louisiana yesterday.
Federline and Spears endured a long custody battle that eventually awarded Federline with sole physical custody, according to RadarOnline. However, negotiations were recently made allowing Spears to have her children come along on the tour. TMZ reports that Federline is being paid $5,000 a week to watch the boys while Spears is performing.
