Lauren Conrad Discusses New Novel

Lauren Conrad is excited about new book, “L.A. Candy.”
The Hills star, Lauren Conrad is going from actress to writer.
People reported her new novel, L.A. Candy, is “loosely inspired” by her own experiences. The main character in the book, Jane Roberts, is a 19-year-old girl who landed her own reality television show after moving to L.A.
“Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life,” wrote Conrad on her MySpace blog. “But it is in no way calling anyone out.”
The 23-year-old says on her blog that she always had a fascination with books.
“I've always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to.”
The book will be the first installment of a three-book series. L.A. Candy will be published by HarperCollins for young adults. As of right now, fans of Conrad can pre-order her new novel, which will be released on June 16.
