Amy Winehouse Charged with Fan Assault
After a two-month retreat to the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, AP reports soul singer Amy Winehouse appeared at court in London, Thursday, where she was charged and arrested for assaulting a fan.
According to NYTimes.com, Winehouse hit dancer Sherene Flash in the eye at a charity ball, September 26, in Berkeley Square, after the fan asked to take a picture with her. After the incident, Winehouse reported to the police station voluntarily, where she was charged and then released.
The Grammy winning singer's battles with the law and drug addictions have frequented media headlines throughout Winehouse's career. In and out of rehab, pictures surfaced last year of Winehouse smoking out of what is assumed to be a crack pipe.
AP News reports Winehouse recently moved out of her London neighborhood of Camden, known for its drug and party scene to the quieter Hadley Wood area of Enfield.
