According to Daily Variety, the movie studio has acquired screen rights to the book. Producer John Davis will oversee the film. The screenplay will be written by Sean Anders and John Morris.
The children's book chronicles a house painter whose dreams of venturing into the Arctic inspires him to start a letter writing campaign lobbying real life explorers. When he receives a litter of penguins from one of them, he forms a circus act with them.
Anders and Morris previously collaborated on the R-rated film "Sex Drive."
