Survivor: Tocantins Episode 5
Previously: Surprisingly the tribes have been a little even, both physically and strategically. There was a cross alliance. Sierra was last to know, but was in with the idea. With a loss at Jalapao, the tribes have balanced out with Sandy being voted out.
Taj has an itch that needs to be scratched and Stephen satisfies it. Taj explains that she voted for Joe because she didn't want to vote for Sandy. Taj and Stephen run to the tree mail and find the hidden immunity idol in the ass of the tree mail guy. Taj is excited that her plans are coming together. Taj suggests that Stephen holds it on his person the whole time. Stephen gets a little bit of a big head and since the immunity is in his hands, takes control of it.
In Timbira, the tribe gets their daily chores assigned. Brendan decides to work on the fire, while several go get water. Sierra asks if Debra needs help on water; they don't. She stays back and talks to Brendan about the whole four-way alliance. Sierra didn't realize that Brendan already had the alliance and the idol. The two feel good about their situation.
The tribes walk in to their reward challenge. It is a spinning platform, dizzy tribe member, and a balance beam. Basically what you feel like when you're pulled over on a late Friday night and forced to take a sobriety test. The prize is some time at the "Charmin Cafe" which is basically coffee and a toilet. Along with that is the whole exile situation.
Round 1: Joe pulling Taj, Brendan pulling Tyson. It's quite funny. Taj has a drunk wobble, while Tyson takes his time. Taj tries going too fast and falls over in the middle. Tyson eventually makes it past the balance beam. It's a best of three.
Round 2: Stephen/Spencer; Coach/Erinn. Erinn gets intense spins from Coach, while Spencer had a staring into a specific area strategy. They both take a second to breathe before getting to the beam. Spencer and Erinn fall the first time up, Spencer eventually gets past.
Round 3: Joe/JT; Brendan/Sierra Sierra almost falls off the ride while JT almost falls over. JT drunkenly falls over, but eventually gets past.
Round 4: Stephen/Sydney; Coach/Debra Stephen outruns Coach, but both women drunkenly walk to the balance beam. Sydney falls over, hustles and overtakes Debra while she tried her first shot.
Jalapao wins and they send Brendan to exile yet again. Brendan picks Stephen. Tyson seems a little confused why it wasn't Taj.
The Charmin Cafe. After shamelessly saying the word "Charmin" for about five minutes, the tribe dives into the cakes and coffee. Taj is excited, since she never experiences these things. The rest of the tribe is even more excited with the toilet and the soap. Joe feels as though Taj is an outcast from the tribe. Someone finds messages on a hammock and it's letters from home. Everyone is in tears, but they all feel mentally stronger. Taj even gets handprints. Joe gets a letter addressed to "Broseph."
Timbira returns really depressed. Debra still acts ignorant about the secret alliance concept. Coach, Debra, and Tyson discuss getting rid of Brendan, because he's getting too chummy with the other tribe. Coach notices a breeze shift, meaning a storm is coming. Coach thinks it'll pass the tribe, but he is wrong. Not only does it pour, it doesn't let up. Erinn is pissed off at Coach's wrong weather prediction.
Exile Island. Brendan and Stephen solidify the whole alliance situation since this is the first time the two get to talk to each other. Stephen explains that he got the idol. The two prep wood for the night. Stephen is a little wary about Brendan, since he can't put all his faith in a man he's talked to for five minutes.
Sydney had a dream and explained to Spencer that her boyfriend had salsa and chips and an earthquake happened. She know that she wants to marry him. Odd, but okay. Spencer doesn't even mention the whole gay situation. He talks about not dating a lot of girls in his College/University. He talks about having a lot of time. There's a tree mail about getting intense for the immunity. Spencer is still afraid that the southerners will vote him off because he's gay.
The tribes walk in to the immunity challenge and Brendan/Stephen return. Debra returns the idol and the challenge is a game of catch. Two people will launch balls and the rest catch. First to five wins.
Launch 1: Stephen/Sydney and Erinn/Debbie are the launchers. JT gets the first point.
Launch 2: JT catches a second. Joe just misses and hurts his knee.
Launch 3: Brendan makes a catch. JT misses.
Launch 4: Brendan swoops and makes a catch.
Launch 5: JT snags one, while Taj holds Brendan. JT loses a tooth and tosses it. Jeff suggests that they find the tooth. Everyone else is grossed out.
Launch 6: Tyson almost gets it and slipps. JT catches yet another.
Launch 7: Tyson gets one, Spencer misses.
Launch 8: Tyson snags one by the flag. JT screams at Spencer.
Launch 9: Tyson scores the last shot, while JT just misses.
Final score: 5-4 Timbira.
Jeff gives Timbira the idol and Jalapao the remainder of JT's tooth. JT is ready to vote off Spencer.
Jalapao returns upset. Taj was frustrated. Joe and JT got beat up. Taj knows that Spencer was really weak during the challenge. Taj thinks that it should be a team situation. She doesn't want to talk bull; she just wants to have the strongest team possible. Joe tries to talk to Taj and she's a little upset that he never even considered making an alliance with her. Stephen tries to do some damage control, but Joe thinks of getting rid of Taj. Stephen is confused.
Taj talks to Spencer and Sydney. She's pissed. Spencer thinks that it's him. The three boys talk smack about Spencer and Spencer tensely walks into the situation. JT confronts Spencer that he wasn't doing enough. He gets a little emotional during the situation. Stephen looks confused as JT still considers getting rid of either Spencer or Taj.
At tribal, Spencer admits to not doing the best. Taj feels frustrated about losing, but she wants to recover from the situation. Joe was a little upset that Taj upset him. Taj was upset because she felt like she was going home. Spencer knows that feeling. Taj tries her best to fit in when she isn't at Exile, but she knows that she's the last outlier if they want to get rid of her. She admits that she doesn't have the idol (Stephen does). Joe is first to vote. Spencer votes Taj. Taj votes Spencer. Jeff reads the votes: Spencer, Taj, Spencer, Spencer, Spencer. With four votes, Spencer's torch is snuffed.
Two Weeks from Now: A Wednesday Survivor episode. Erinn calls coach a jackass.
