Oprah Talks Domestic Violence

Winfrey dedicated Thursday's topic of domestic violence to Chris Brown and Rihanna. She did not want to attack the couple so much as she wanted to send them love, according to FOX News. Winfrey wanted to reach out to women everywhere and teach them about an important issue.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Winfrey argued with audience members who felt sympathetic for Brown, and gave them a piece of her mind. "If you go back to a man who hit you, you don't think you're worthy of being with a man who won't," Winfrey said, according to EW.

Tyra Banks joined Winfrey on the show. New York Daily News reports that Banks spoke to both Brown and Rihanna in the past about the issue, stating that Rihanna witnessed her parents fight throughout her childhood, and Brown grew up in an abusive environment, as well.

Oprah will continue this topic next week, opening the floor to men who say they have been abusers.
