A 53-year-old man was arrested Sunday for his part in a 2007 holdup of an armored car in Dallas, after the suspect escaped with $1.9 million.
A man suspected of robbing an armored car for $1.9 million in 2007 has been arrested in Rosebud, Tex., according to the Associated Press. The suspect, 53-year-old Donald Ray Williams, was captured without incident at a residence in Rosebud, 35 miles south of Waco.
FBI officials said they acted on information gained from tips provided by the public, after Clear Channel Digital Billboards began posting information concerning Williams around San Antonio. On Saturday, FBI agents in San Antonio received a tip that Williams was in Rosebud.
Williams is accused of robbing an armored car on September 5, 2007, in Dallas. His accomplice, Freddy Lee Footes, has already been arrested and convicted, and is currently serving a sentence of nearly 30 years in prison. Both men previously served prison sentences for committing a similar armored car robbery in April 1988, also in Dallas, according to Chron.com. A $45,000 reward was offered for information leading to Williams’s arrest.
