Movie Filled Weekend Nov. 12-14
11-Nov-2004
Written by: Dino-Ray Ramos

A landslide of movies hit theaters this weekend.

You can still catch The Incredibles and Polar Express this weekend, but for those who opt out of family fun films, there are other choices.

The sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason is a follow up to the 2001 film starring Renee Zellweger and is based on the franchise of novels by Helen Fielding. This film takes place four weeks after the last one, and we find Bridget just as awkward and quirky. Her relationship with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) has proven to be quite interesting, but when her former Boss Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) enters the picture, it gets even more interesting.

Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek, Woody Harrelson, and Don Cheadle star in After the Sunset, a movie about two master thieves (Brosnan and Hayek) going on vacation in celebration of their retiring from the business. An FBI agent (Harrelson), who has been their adversary throughout their career, doubts their retirement and thinks that they are up to no good on their vacation.

What would a good movie release weekend be without a film about the popular monstrous children's doll, Chucky? Seed of Chucky hits theaters this weekend with Jennifer Tilly and the voices of Brad Dourif and Billy Boyd. With Jennifer Tilly playing herself and voicing Chucky's bride, Tiffany, the terrifying couple attempt to use Tilly as a host for a much-wanted baby.

Finally, in limited release this weekend are the films Kinsey and Finding Neverland. Both films are definitely two that are worth watching once they do hit theaters nation-wide. Kinsey follows the life of Alfred Kinsey, the man who wrote Sexual Behavior in the Human Male and utilized science in the research of sexual actions.

Taking a different perspective from the countless Peter Pan films is, Finding Neverland, starring Johnny Depp. The film explores the life of Peter Pan author, J.M. Barrie and the surrounding inspirations around him that prompted his penning of the famous children's tale. Sex and Peter Pan, what a combination.

Next week, be on the lookout for the Nicholas Cage adventure, National Treasure and Sponge Bob Square Pants: The Movie, yet another children's film to keep your kids busy.
