Kanye West Expected to Be Charged in Airport Assault

Kanye West faces charges after a September altercation with a photographer in an airport.

Hip-hop artist Kanye West is expected to be charged in three misdemeanors relating to an airport assault with the paparazzi in September, MTVNews.com reports. West allegedly broke a cameraman's camera. The rapper is being charged with criminal misdemeanor battery, grand theft, and vandalism, EW.com reports.

West initially faced felony charges for the scuffle with the TMZ photographer before the Los Angeles DA dropped all charges, MTVNews.com reports. Six months later, the court is reexamining the charges and it now appears West will now be hit with three misdemeanors.

TMZ published a video online of the incident and West blogged about it shortly after it occurred. According to MTVNews.com, West wrote, "I'm cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn't cool. I gotta work now. . . . I'll rant later!"
