Boyfriend of "Laguna Beach" Star Arrested for Felony Cocaine Possession
Renzo Gamboa, the boyfriend of former Laguna Beach cast member Alex Murrel, has been arrested for felony cocaine possession with the intent to sell.
The Laguna Beach police department raided Murrel's rented house because of a request that was filed by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. They believed that Murrel's boyfriend, Gamboa, had been living in the United States illegally.
However, when the police raided Murrel's rented residence, they quickly discovered a sizable stash of cocaine and Gamboa confessed that the stash was his. The Laguna Beach star was merely questioned as a witness and it is not expected that she will face any charges as a result of the felony cocaine bust.
On the other hand, her boyfriend has already been placed on an immigration hold and has been transferred to county lockup, according to E! Online.
Sergeant Jason Kravetz of the Laguna Beach Police Department provided a statement to E! News in regards to the situation, saying, "The immigration people came down and asked us for assistance. They found him at the girlfriend's house and we assisted them, but we had a new charge to add on because of the cocaine in the house which was his."
Murrel was the lead character in the second season of MTV's popular television program, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.
