Madonna Adopts Child from Malawi
Anything Madonna wants, she gets. According to the San Francisco Examiner, Madonna has flown to Malawi to set up the process for adopting a second child.
Reuters reported the pop-icon brought her Malawian son, David, along on the trip. Some Malawi natives opposed David's adoption, claiming the government avoided the law that states non-residents cannot adopt Malawi children. The southern African country has been hit by an AIDS outbreak.
Despite any controversy, Madonna wants to find a brother or sister for David, with the approval of the Malawian people.
Government officials said that the Material Mom will visit the site where her charity, Raising Malawi, is located. The cause will be building a multi-million dollar school for girls.
According to Reuters, David's father is excited to see his son next week.
"Someone from Raising Malawi visited me last week and told me that my son may be visiting me sometime next week. I am delighted, I want to see my son," he said.
Madonna adopted David when he was 13 months old after his father sent him to an orphanage.
Even though approximately a million children are orphans affected with the AIDS virus, the pop star is happy to help those in need of a home.
