Six Family Members Dead, Another in Critical Condition After Murder-Suicide

In a horrific breaking news story, six members of a Santa Clara family have been found dead inside of a home in California's upscale Rivermark community and a seventh individual is currently in critical condition. The suspected gunman is believed to be one of the six individuals who was found dead as a result of gunshot wounds, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.The identities of those who were murdered have not yet been publicly released and Santa Clara police Lieutenant Phil Cooke has commented on this tragic incident by mentioning that the authorities believe that this was a family-on-family murder-suicide. Three of the victims in this murder-suicide were children, including a young boy, a young girl and a young teenage girl.One woman who was shot by the gunman was found injured outside of the house and she was immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. The woman is currently listed in critical condition. Specific details of this tragedy have not been made public due to the fact that the authorities are currently concealing whether or not they have discovered a motive.The Silicon Valley city is generally regarded as an upscale area that has not been exposed to this type of terrifying violence in recent years. Santa Clara Mayor Patricia Mahan sent her regards out to the remaining members of the family's victims in a public statement that reads, "Certainly it is a grievous tragedy, and the city's thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims. Words just can't describe the enormity of the tragedy."
