Lady Gaga Lands Second Ace with "Poker Face"
Pop Diva Lady Gaga's second single, titled "Poker Face," has skyrocketed to number one on the Billboard charts, making her the first artist in nearly a decade to have their first two singles both hit number one, EW.com reports. Her debut single, "Just Dance," hit number one in January and reigned supreme for several weeks.
The last artist to score two number one consecutive first singles was Christina Aguilera, with "Genie in a Bottle" in 1999 and "What a Girl Wants" in 2000, AP News reports. Previous artists to achieve this record include '80s pop star Tiffany and Mariah Carey.
Lady Gaga, 23, born Stefani Germanotta, is as well known for her over-the-top fashion and persona as she is for her vocal skills. Only a year ago she was struggling to get her songs played on U.S. radio, the Boston Globe reports.
