The Johnston Family To Appear On "Tyra"

According to People, Levi Johnston, 18, went on The Tyra Banks Show to discuss his relationship with Bristol Palin, the daughter of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Johnston said that he and Palin practiced safe sex, "most of the time." The couple has a child together named Tripp.

Johnston also told Banks that Sarah Palin was aware of the sexual relationship he and Bristol were having while living in the same house.

Johnston said, "I'm pretty sure she probably knew. Moms are pretty smart."

The couple split up earlier this year, but was previously planning on getting married after they graduated.

People confirmed with a source that Bristol Palin is, "texting and chatting" with a man she was romantically involved with before Johnston.

Johnston's mother Sherry and sister Mercede, are featured as guests on the show as well. They talked about their experiences during Sarah Palin's vice presidential run.

Mercede said, "We were supposed to say that all questions needed to be brought up to the McCain campaign. Other than that we had to say 'no comment.'"

The show is slated to air on April 6.
