Michael Jackson Sued by L.A. Antiques Dealer
Michael Jackson is being sued by a Los Angeles antiques dealer who claims the troubled pop star refuses to pay for nearly $180,000 in furniture that he took home in May. According to the lawsuit, Jackson bought $378,000 in merchandise including: a $37,000 urn; a $30,000 "Louis XVI style" bust and clock; and a gold-painted dancing girl. The catch is, Jackson has not paid the entire bill.
"We've heard rumblings about the lawsuit, and what we will do is handle it in a good and business-like manner, and take care of it as are all matters are in Michael's business," Jackson's lawyer Brian Oxman said.
The once undeniable "King of Pop" has been too busy with legal troubles to make music recently. He faces a January trail on a 10-count indictment that charges him with child molestation and conspiracy.
Last year Forbes magazine estimated that Jackson was worth $350 million dollars, but said he had heavy liens against his property and spent heavily on a lavish lifestyle.
Maybe he should start making music again to keep himself out of the courtroom and shopping center.
