Fast and Furious Tramples Competition

Fast & Furious rushed to a big-time win at the box office this weekend, earning more than $30 million on Friday alone! Some estimate that if the film continues in as successful a trajectory, "Fast & Furious" may earn well more than the eyebrow-raising sum from Friday. The 2009 incarnation of the fast-thrills, rocket-paced action flick again stars original stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker in a widely-enjoyed drama/actioner with racing, testosterone and plenty of hot cars. Fans will remember the movie "The Fast and the Furious" was a huge hit in 2001. It spawned a number of sequels, none of which quite excited crowds in the way the original did. Notice the extreme similarity between the 2001 and 2009 titles. Perhaps the secret is in the title after all?
