Daughter of actor Russ Tamblyn, Amber Tamblyn, stars in new television show, “The Unusuals.”
Amber Tamblyn, daughter of West Side Story actor Russ Tamblyn, is the
leading light as a cop in an upcoming ABC drama series, The Unusuals.
The 25-year-old actress, who previously starred in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” movies and the television program, Joan of Arcadia, assumes the role of Det. Casey Shraeger. In the first episode, Shraeger is transferred to a homicide division from her previous position in vice, and is paired with Det. Jason Walsh (Jeremy Renner), whose partner recently died, according to the California Chronicle.
Tamblyn's character, Shraeger, as well as Det. Leo Banks (Harold Perrineau), Det. Henry Cole (Joshua Close) and Det. Allison Beaumont (Monique Curnen), all have something in common; they're all eccentric. According to the Chronicle, one officer has a death wish. Another is overcautious. Another
refers to himself in the third person (hey, check out the show's title).
"Casey grew up in one of the richest families in New York, and she grew up without any responsibilities or any boundaries," Tamblyn told USA Today. "And so, for her, it was very important to do something where there were
laws and where your morals counted."
Tamblyn said she was into the idea of playing a part she'd never played before.
The Unsuals began its debut Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 10 p.m. EST/PST, according to the International Movie Database.
