Band also announces headline slot at San Francisco festival in August.

On Monday, hard rock band Pearl Jam confirmed their participation in San Francisco's Outside Lands Festival this August, Billboard reports. The band will play alongside artists like the Beastie Boys, Modest Mouse and M.I.A., according to Reuters.

The announcement marked the beginning of what is sure to be a busy year for the grunge veterans.

In a radio interview on Seattle's Ron and Don Show, guitarist Mike McCready said the band had completed 14 songs for a new album with producer Brendan O'Brien in Los Angeles.

He also said that the band was working on a film with director Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous, Jerry Maguire). McCready did not give release dates for either project.

Regarding a tour, the band will have to wait for singer Eddie Vedder's run of solo shows to end. The singer will play a run of 11 shows, beginning June 8 in Albany, N.Y., according to Entertainment Weekly. However, McCready told Billboard that Pearl Jam was planning on "doing a little thing in the States," and hoped to add some South American dates in 2010.

In related news, Pearl Jam's recent reissue of its classic album, Ten, has been met with massive critical and commercial acclaim. According to Blabbermouth, the album sold almost 60,000 copies its first week, with an estimated 10,000 of those springing for the $140 "Super Deluxe" edition.
