Octomom Seeks Trademark Over Her Nickname
According to E! News, Nadya Suleman is seeking ownership of her "Octomom" nickname so she can use it on baby goods.
E! News obtained two applications that Suleman filed on April 10 with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The mother of 14 is seeking the right to attach her nickname to future TV projects, as well as to Octomom-branded baby goods including diapers and children's wear.
The requests could take up to a year to be approved, E! News reports. Suleman's potential television series about her children cannot take off without approval.
"What I'm doing with this TV show is basically creating documentaries about the lives of my children," Suleman told Life&Style. "It's going to be an ongoing thing, and it will follow them from now until they are 18. It's being done by Eyeworks," she continued. "They're in the U.K. and then we'll see if the U.S. is interested."
