Hogan Says "I Totally Understand O.J."

In an interview with "Rolling Stone," pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan talks about his feelings regarding ex-wife Linda Bollea.

O. J. Simpson and Hulk Hogan are both famous athletes who parlayed their fame in sports-stadiums into starring roles in Hollywood movies. But it turns out they may have a much more troubling quality in common as well.

According to Usmagazine.com, the pro-wrestler – real name Terry Gene Bollea – reveals in a new interview with Rolling Stone that after his 2007 divorce from wife Linda Bollea, and her subsequent relationship with a much younger man, he felt so angry that he "could have turned everything into a crime scene," going on to remark, "I totally understand O.J. I get it."

Hogan was referring to the accusation – dismissed in a criminal trial but held in civil court – that Simpson murdered his wife, Nicole Simpson, and her alleged lover, Ron Goldman, in a fit of jealousy in 2004.

Bollea, 48, filed for divorce from Hogan, 55, in November 2007, news that was first broken to Hogan while being interviewed by a reporter. Many observers believe that the Hogans had fallen victim to the oft-cited "reality-curse," a trend of celebrity couples splitting up after appearing together on popular reality TV programs.

Hogan and his family were featured in two VH1 shows – Hogan Knows Best, focusing on the then married couple and their two children, Nick and Brooke, and Brooke Knows Best, a spin-off that focused more on Brooke's life as an aspiring pop singer. The shows' plotlines often highlighted tensions between Hogan and his family that arose due to their perception that he was too controlling of their personal lives.

Bollea's attorney claims that Hogan's latest action against Bollea - an appearance in court to request that Bollea's teenaged new beau, Charlie Hill, be prohibited from using vehicles jointly owned by the divorced-pair – is another example of Hogan's desire to control all aspects of Bollea's life.

But Hogan responds to this in the interview, saying, "You live half a mile from the 20,000-square-foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown . . . and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife." Hogan also claims that Hill is exposing his family to liabilities, given his history of traffic violations.
