Ice Wars 2004: USA vs. The World
The eleventh consecutive Ice Wars aired on the CBS Network Friday night, December 3, from 9 to 11 P. M., featuring competition between the USA and World teams.
Each team featured two men and two women skaters, all of who have Olympic or champion titles. Each player had to compete in both a technical and artistic program. The team with the highest score would win the prestigious Ice War title. From their choices in music, skating styles, costumes and, yes, even props, Ice Wars are one competition where anything can hit the ice.
The USA team had quite a fierce line-up with such favorites as Brian Boitano, Kristi Yamaguchi, Todd Eldredge and Nicole Bobek. But in the end, it was The World team of Alexei Yagudin, Oksana Baiul, Kurt Browning and Yuka Sato that warmed the judges just a little bit more.
Final standings: The World 587.4; USA 585.4.
