Sacha Baron Cohen's "Bruno" Scrapes by with "R" Rating

Sacha Baron Cohen's new movie, "Bruno," barely makes "R" rating.

Anyone who is familiar with the characters of Sacha Baron Cohen knows his work isn't for those easily offended. His previous films based on the characters of Da Ali G Show are Ali G Indahouse and Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Ali G is a satirical white-rapper type who believes he is black, the Borat character is a reporter from the country of Kazakhstan reporting on American culture.

Now it's Cohen's character Bruno's turn and EW.com reports the re-edited version of Bruno barely scrapped by the MPAA's standards with an R rating. The first version screened received an NC-17. The character Bruno is a flamboyantly gay Austrian fashion reporter who travels across America. Bruno will hit theaters July 10.
