Final

Comic-based series comes to a close.

Blade: Trinity, the final chapter in the action-packed vampire film series, opened this week.

The past two films have clearly established that Blade is not the hypersensitive type of vampire, dressed in black velvet and agonizing over his lot in life. He does dress in black, but that's where the similarity ends. Although in the past two movies there was a little tugging of the heartstrings at Blade's unwillingness to drink fresh human blood, the movies have largely been focused on just one thing: turning vampires into small piles of ash by using the most astonishing array of weaponry possible.

Trinity doesn't look like it will be an exception. It carries an R-rating for violence (and some language and sexual content), and there looks to be the expected bombastic arsenal and mind-bending action spread between Wesley Snipes' Daywalker and his two new sidekicks. One of said sidekicks includes the daughter of his mentor Whistler, as played by Jessica Biel.

As for enemies, the half-human vampire hunter will be up against the Big Tamale of the vampire world - Dracula himself. In addition, the vampire population is on the verge of figuring out how to walk in daylight. Both factors can only mean one thing, bloodshed and lots of it.
