Tom Hanks Lured Back to “Toy Story 3”
24-Apr-2009
Written by: Karla Casillas

Tom Hanks was convinced to return as Sheriff Woody in “Toy Story 3,” after being shown the film.

In Empire magazine’s latest issue, Tom Hanks described how he was lured into returning to voice Sheriff Woody in Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3. He describes their method as “interesting.”

Hanks wasn’t sent a script of the film and was instead shown the entire film in a theater alongside Tim Allen and John Ratzenberger.

“They showed us a complete story reel of the entire movie, with storyboards moving from one to the next,” Hanks said, according to AceShowbiz.com. “The people up at Pixar recorded some voices with some music and sound effects.”

That was enough to sign him up for the project. “This is great, let’s get to work,” the actor expressed as his, Allen’s and Ratzenberger’s reaction.

Hanks has already had three recording sessions with more to come in the future. Toy Story 3 will show the toys’ latest adventure as a grown up Andy leaves for college and they are dropped off at a daycare center. The film is set to premiere, June 18, 2010.
