Rihanna Wants Jewelry Back

Rihanna requests that the jewelry she was wearing that infamous night be returned.

Back in February, singer Rihanna, 21, was attacked by her then-boyfriend, singer Chris Brown. BBC News reported that the Los Angeles police took as evidence some jewelry that Rihanna was wearing that night.

Before the incident, the pieces were worn at Clive Davis's Pre-Grammy Gala, according to E! Online.

But the items do not belong to the singer. The jewels, which are worth over $1.4 million, were on loan from four different companies. The pieces include a pair of earrings and three rings.

Donald Etra, Rihanna's lawyer, said, "Apparently, initially, the police felt that it would be needed as evidence. Now the belief is that photographs would be more than sufficient. That being the case, we're asking the District Attorney to return the pieces."

Brown's case is due back in court this Wednesday, although Brown is not required to attend the hearing, according to the Associated Press. Etra said that it would be preferable for Brown and the prosecutors to reach a plea agreement, but Rihanna will testify if called.
