Live Action Ninja Turtles Movie to Be Released in 2011
Celebrating their 25th anniversary, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lit up the Empire State Building green as they announced the release of the new installment, according to MTV.com.
Entertainment Weekly reports, the film will focus on the five original characters; Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo and Splinter.
The fifth turtle film has been described to be a cross breed of CGI and live graphics. Peter Laird, co-creator of the original 1980s comics, will be one of the producers on set and said the film might use face replacement technology, allowing the turtles to be much more expressive.
According to MTV, along with Laird, the film will be produced by Scott Mednick, who worked on 300 and Superman Returns, and Galen Walker, who produced the last Turtle flick.
TNMT's last movie was a computer-based cartoon released in 2007, reports BBC News.
