Bioshock Movie Put on Hold
Production of the film, "Bioshock," is being put on hold due to costs.
Universal has announced production of Bioshock, a film adaption of the acclaimed video game, has been put on hold due to cost, EW.com reported.
Gore Verbinski, Pirates of the Caribbean director, has been selected to direct Bioshock. The film takes place in an underwater city requiring an elaborate set, which has contributed to financial problems.
The budget for the film has been reported to be $160 million. EW.com said Universal is currently looking for ways to cut costs, including possibly moving the production to London for tax benefits.
Variety reported that both Universal and director Verbinski say that despite delays, the film will still be made.
