Will Susan Boyle Be Performing on American Idol Before the Season Ends?
According to the New York Daily News, Britain's Got Talent phenomenon Susan Boyle may potentially be invited to come to the United States to perform on American Idol before the season comes to a conclusion in a few weeks. Britain's Daily Mirror took the report a step further by insinuating that Boyle will likely appear on the show either before this season of American Idol comes to an end or during the next season.
Boyle's brother has been lobbying for Britain's Got Talent executives to release her from her contract so that she can take full advantage of her opportunity to extend her fifteen minutes of fame. Her contract states that she cannot perform on another talent show, although she has performed on Larry King Live as well as the Today show, according to MTV.com.
Ryan Seacrest posted on his Twitter page that he plans on e-mailing the producers of American Idol in order to push for them to bring her onto the show to perform. Simon Cowell, who has not ruled out the possibility of Boyle performing on American Idol before the season is completed, hopes that she will place all of her focus on her upcoming semifinal performance on Britain's Got Talent.
Cowell has provided Boyle with specific advice about her career by saying, "Get yourself together, sweetheart, for the big one the semifinal. Shut the door, choose the right song and come back as who you are, not who you want to be."
