Miss California in Anti-Gay Marriage Ad

Miss California, Carrie Prejean, is being featured in an advertisement from the National Organization for Marriage.

After her response to blogger Perez Hilton's question about legalizing same-sex marriage at the Miss USA pageant, Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean, 21, has been making headlines even though she didn't win the title. Her support for traditional marriage has led her to team up with the National Organization for Marriage in a new advertisement, according to Fox News. The ad invites advocates of gay rights to share their opinion in a debate on the issue.

The New York Times reported that the advertisement accuses same-sex advocates of trying to silence those who are opposed to it. Despite all the negative attention Prejean has received from liberals for her comment, she does not regret what she said. "I was ready to be Miss USA that night on that stage, and I was faced with a very controversial question. I had a choice to stand up for what I believe in or to compromise that for the tiara," she said at the National Press Club in Washington., according to Fox News.

The ad focuses on praising Prejean for having the courage to stick to her beliefs even if it meant risking the title of Miss USA. Reuters reported that the commercial shows Prejean at the pageant during the very moment when she answered that infamous question and received boos and cheers from the crowd.

In this case, morals triumphed the crown.
