NBC Executive Dies on Set of Series Pilot

Nora O'Brien was taking a break from filming.
According to Daily Variety, NBC executive Nora O'Brien died on the set of a new TV series. Cause of death is unknown.
The 44-year-old was playing basketball with friends during a break in filming when she fainted and was whisked away to the hospital. She died shortly afterward.
According to family and friends, O'Brien exhibited no signs of illness prior to her death.
"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of our beloved colleague Nora," NBC said in a prepared statement. "She'll truly be missed by all of us."
Described as warm and outgoing, O'Brien's helmed many networks in her capacity as vice president of drama programming, a post she held since January 2008. Among her accomplishments: getting the short-lived TV series, Kings, to the airwaves and signing on the soon-to debut series, The Philanthropist.
Prior to her work with NBC, she worked as the vice president of original programming at the SciFi channel, overseeing programs such as Stargate and Stargate Atlantis.
She is survived by her mother, three sisters and three brothers.
