Hugh Jackman Charms, Slashes His Way to Top of Box Office

Even if the "X-Men" comics/hit movie franchise isn't your thing, how can you resist that hunk of burning love known as Hugh Jackman?

Apparently, not many people could this weekend, as the Jackman-starring X-Men Origins: Wolverine kicked (slashed?) its way to the top of the box office . . . and that's just according to early estimates out by Saturday.

By Saturday, after having only been released one day earlier, the action flick had already earned an estimated $35 million, according to early estimates.

If Jackman's Wolverine keeps going strong on Saturday and Sunday, he could be looking at a historic showing.

The "X-Men" movies, released over the last decade, have each experienced strong showings at the box office, assisted by a strong following of the decades-old popular comic characters.
