NBC Renews “Medium” and Other TV Shows for Next Season
3-May-2009
Written by: Bridget Campos

NBC will announce, on Monday, what TV shows for the 2009-2010 season have been picked up or axed.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, on Sunday NBC confirmed the renewal of the paranormal crime drama, Medium, which stars Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette. Though details have not been determined, the renewal is expected to be in the 13 to 18 episode range, reports Reuters.

The midseason cop drama, Southland, starring Ben McKenzie, was picked up for 13 episodes for next season. However, the hit comedy, My Name Is Earl and Parks and Recreation, starring Amy Poehler, are still finalizing a renewal.

There has been no final decision on Chuck and Law & Order, since both shows have modest ratings and are on the brink between renewal and cancellation. In fact, Law & Order is looking to tie Gunsmoke’s record run with a 20th season pickup.
