CBS Films Acquires Rights to "Station"

Sci-fi graphic novel to be filmed by "Gypsy and Me" producer.

According to Daily Variety, CBS Films has acquired the film rights to the miniseries comic book "Station."

The comic book, published by Boom! Studios is about a international team of astronauts who race against time to figure out the cause of death of one of their own. The adaptation will be produced by David Blackman, who previously worked on "The Ice Princess" and "Turn it Up." Screenwriters Jeff Vintar and Lawrence Mark will write the script.

"This feels like a Hitchcock movie in a James Cameron setting, and Jeff is ideally suited to adapt the novel," said Mark of the Johanna Stokes miniseries.

Mark produced "Julie and Julia," the Nora Ephron-directed film starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. The film premieres Aug. 7.
