Team Jih Comments on Their Amazing Race Exposure
Concluding as victors for the 14th season of The Amazing Race, lawyers Victor and Tammy Jih overcame obstacles including hiking mountains in Romania and eating starfish in Hawaii. These phenomenal tasks, however, were no competition for the real challenges.
Crossing the finish line in Maui 30 pounds less than when the race began, the sibling team commented on how loose-fitting the regulatory swimsuits had become.
"Those Hawaiian shorts were literally 10 sizes too big!" Victor comments in a New York Post interview. Tammy also recalls how she purposefully talked directly into the camera so that the cameraman would stop filming her from the backend.
Both regarding themselves as the nerdy, nonathletic type, the pair felt their disadvantage with tasks involving swimming and carrying pigs. Considering their education, however, as well as the fact that part of the competition was held in a country home to their native language, Chinese, the team felt it balanced out considerably, as reported by people.com.
Although their winnings will be spent traditionally, paying off debt and school loans, their experiences were extraordinary.
When their parents flew in to Bangkok to visit, they looked forward to seeing a Thai lady-boy show, and according to the New York Post, the Jih family got their fair share of excitement watching the Mai Thai trannies!
The team says they would be delighted to come back for an "All-Star Amazing Race."
