Will Ferrell Returns to SNL for Season Finale
17-May-2009
Written by: Megan Tinsley

Actor and comedian Will Ferrell makes an appearance on Saturday Night Live’s Season Finale, reviving a few familiar characters alongside comedian Darrell Hammond.

Will Ferrell comes back as a few familiar characters on NBC's Saturday Night Live. According to et.online.com and kget.com, in the opening, last night, Ferrell portrayed George W. Bush as actor Darrell Hammond played Dick Cheney.

Bush says to Cheney he's worried with how frequent the former VP is making appearances on television since leaving office. "You're on TV more than that Sham Wow guy," said Ferrell.

"I spent eight years with my face out there, saying things I barely understood," added Ferrell, "while you were nowhere to be found." Hammond answered he was "busy," but wasn't regretful.

Ferrell replies "Well here's my regret. That I didn't have me a vice president like Joe Biden. I mean look at those two, goin' out for burgers - laughing it up. I needed that kind of VP. The kind that did dumb stuff to make me look smarter."

Ferrell talked to the crowd some, sarcastically revealing that his career encompassed much serious dramatic work and he wanted to show-and-tell onstage, so to speak.

The comedian also impersonated Alex Trebek during Jeopardy, alongside Norm Macdonald, who was Burt Reynolds, Hammond as Sean Connery and Tom Hanks as an unintelligent version of himself.
