Mel Gibson; Eight Time Child-Rearing Actor

Oscar-winning actor Mel Gibson, who also directed the blockbuster sensation, The Passion of the Christ, and girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva are expecting their first child together.

Although Gibson and his wife of 28 years, Robyn Moore, have been separated for three years now, Moore reportedly made the split official on April 13 by filing for divorce.

Grigorieva, a Russian singer, is already in her second trimester. Gibson has informed his former wife of his new girlfriend's pregnancy; however, it is unclear whether the information was revealed before or after the divorce was filed.

The Gibson's already have seven children together. Grigorieva, 39, also has a 12-year-old son after a failed past relationship with actor Timothy Dalton, reports gearlive.com. This will make Gibson, 53, a father for the eighth time.

This incident has also caused Gibson some Christian controversy. A strict member of the Catholic faith, these premarital relations stand as a direct disobedience of the religion's beliefs, as reported by theweek.com.

Gibson is scheduled to make a public appearance on The Tonight Show, Monday, May 25.
