My Name Is Earl, "Medium" Canceled
According to Daily Variety, two of NBC's popular shows, My Name Is Earl and Medium have been terminated.
The announcement was made Tuesday by NBC. It is the second cancellation by the network this season, following the decision to bypass the David E. Kelley drama, Legally Mad. No reason was given for the decision.
Though both Earl and Medium have been considered reliable brands for the network, negotiations stalled between the network and the studios which produce the shows, CBS Studios TV and 20th Century Fox TV, respectively.
Incidentally, 20th Century Fox and CBS are speculating about picking up the shows for their own network's lineup.
ABC has also expressed interest in buying Earl, following it's decision to pick up Scrubs following the show's cancellation on NBC.
If CBS picks up Medium, it will solidify the network's slate of paranormal dramas on Friday nights, following the success of the Jennifer Love Hewitt show Ghost Whisperer.
