Pattinson Gears Up For a Different Type of Role

Twilight star tries something new.

The film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's short story "Bel Ami," will be another movie "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson is gearing up for, Variety magazine reports.

Pattinson spilled the news to reporters while in Cannes, promoting "Remember Me." According to MTV, no female leads have been cast in the movie just yet. The actor told Variety in Cannes that he'll play "a totally amoral character" who ruthlessly rises to power in French society.

"Bel Ami" is scheduled to start shooting in Paris next year, MTV reports, which is just one more thing Pattinson will have to squeeze into his schedule before the "Breaking Dawn" movie starts its own production.

"Bel Ami" is not Pattinson's only new role, diverging away from his vampire clad. Pattinson will be hitting the silver screen alongside Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz in the film "Unbound Captives." The story takes place in 1865 America and is about a woman whose husband is killed by a Comanche war party, MTV reports. Weisz, the widow, and her two children, one of whom will be played by Pattinson are kidnapped, and rescued by frontiersman Jackman.

Though Pattinson confirmed Tuesday that the "Breaking Dawn" movie will be made with him as Edward, Pattinson still has quite a bit of work before he can finish the saga off.
