Sutherland and McCollough Settle Issues

Kiefer Sutherland's assault charges may be dropped after a court hearing scheduled for June 22.

After actor Kiefer Sutherland, 42, and designer Jack McCollough butt heads at a New York nightclub on May 5, the two have resolved their differences. According to EW.com, the third-degree assault charges against Sutherland will be dropped at the court hearing being held on June 22.

Sutherland apologized for his actions at the nightclub. "I am sorry about what happened that night and sincerely regret that Mr. McCollough was injured," Sutherland told the Associated Press.

McCollough responded, stating that he appreciated Sutherland's apology and wishes him the best, reported the Associated Press.

Prosecutors plan to evaluate the case thoroughly as a potential probation violation where it could result in jail time for Sutherland, reported People.com.

The 42-year-old actor is also on a five-year probation for DUI charges at this time, according to People.com.

Although this case has caused a bit of commotion, it will not affect 24's production schedule, which is planned to begin on May 27, according to EW.com.
