Springsteen to Play Final Show at Giants Stadium
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play three shows at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., this fall, he announced at his May 21 concert at the Izod Center in Rutherford.
This will be the last musical performance at the venue before it is torn down at the end of the 2009 NFL season in order to make room for the new $1.3 billion stadium for the New York Giants and Jets.
The shows will take place on Sept. 30, and Oct. 2 and 3, as per the flyer distributed at Thursday night's show. Tickets will go on sale June 1.
Springsteen's North American tour wrapped up Saturday at the Izod Center, and a European tour will shortly follow. The band will return to the States in June when they will headline Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn., while they are on a break from their European jaunt. There has been some speculation about further U.S. dates, but Thursday night's announcement was the first confirmation fans received.
