Kate Plus 8 Minus Jon?

Jon & Kate Plus 8's long awaited season premiere debuted last night on TLC and this was one reality show that actually lived up to its hyped reviews.

For the first time ever in the show's history, Jon and Kate were interviewed separately. The show's previous sunny disposition has now turned into a solemn reality show that no producer would have anticipated. In the past, the show focused on what it was like for two parents to raise eight children. Now the show's focus has turned to a couple's failing marriage and how the mother, Kate Gosselin, will somehow put on the best fifth birthday party for her six children, while her husband takes the weekend off.

During the past month, Kate has endured the scrutiny of the media. Us Weekly's current cover refers to Kate as being a monster. Somehow, Jon has managed to keep his face off of magazine covers at the moment.

Jon apologized to his family on the show last night during an interview for his poor actions that he said were taken out of context. Kate said during one of her interviews, "Jon knows what he did."

It was just nine months ago that the couple renewed their wedding vows in Hawaii in front of their eight children, promising each other they would be together forever. Jon and Kate may be bonded forever by their eight children, but it appears the two are going their separate ways.
