Bueller Residence Up For Grabs
The place is like a museum. It's very beautiful and very cold, and you're not allowed to touch anything, says Ferris Bueller in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
Played by actor Matthew Broderick in 1986, Ferris describes the house owned by friend Cameron Frye (Alan Ruck), prior to the infamous car crash at the film's climax. The Chicago home is selling for $2.3 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Located at 370 Beech St. in north suburban Highland Park, the Ben Rose home was built in 1953 by architects A. James Speyer and David Haid. Its 5,300 square feet incorporates two glass and steel buildings as well as a detached three-car garage.
Complete with four bedrooms, four complete bathrooms, dining room, family room, living room and kitchen, along with central air, gas fireplace and Lake Michigan water, the three-quarter acre property already has interested buyers, reported Chicago Sun-Times.
Inside the residence is a wall dedicated to the "Bueller" film including photos of Broderick and Ruck with plenty of behind the scenes images.
Meladee Hughes of Sudler Soethby's International Realtors, who is responsible for the property listing, says "It's not just about the car going in the ravine. It's just a wonderful property."
