Green Day Announces Fellow Summer Tourmates
The Bravery, Kaiser Chiefs, and Franz Ferdinand have been added to Green Day's huge summer tour. The three bands will be performing only on the North American leg of the tour while Green Day will continue on to tour around the globe.
The tour officially starts on July 3 at the Key Arena in Seattle, where the Bravery will begin the tour through July 25 in New York. The Kaiser Chiefs will then pick up where the Bravery left off. Franz Ferdinand will then start opening up for the band beginning on Aug. 8 at the Toyota Center in Houston. The 38-day tour officially ends on August 25 at Inglewood, Calif. at the Forum.
The three opening acts are successes within the indie-rock sub-genre. The Bravery's single, "Believe," hit No. 4, and Franz Ferdinand's single, "Take Me Out," hit No. 3, on the US Modern Rock Chart. The Kaiser Chiefs' album, Employment, was featured on NME's "Greatest Indie Albums Ever."
