Gondry’s “Thorn” Nabbed by Indie Studio

Movie chronicles director’s aunt’s life.
According to Daily Variety, an independent studio has nabbed the rights to Michel Gondry's The Thorn in the Heart.
The documentary, which premiered in Cannes, follows his aunt, Suzette Gondry, and her son, Jean Yves, as they live and work in a small community in rural France.
Thorn was produced and financed by Gondry through his shingle, Partizan films. It is his second film after the 2005 cult hit, Dave Chappelle's Block Party.
It is the 15th film Oscilloscope is set to release in over a year, 10 of them already screened or released to theaters and cable TV. Among them is Kurt Kuenne's Dear Zachary, a mystery documentary about the Shirley Jane Turner murder trial. The movie premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival last year and has since been shown on MSNBC, garnering high ratings for the network.
The Oscilloscope deal was negotiated on behalf of Gondry and Oscilloscope, by rep agency CAA.
